Student Health Center

The Student Health Center is closed until July 7 as we move into our new location in the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center. We'll reopen at 8:00 am on Monday, July 8.

If you need care during this time, please visit the nearest urgent care center or emergncy room.

The Student Health Center is committed to providing healthcare services that support Lamar University's mission of engaging and empowering you with skills and knowledge to thrive in life. Our services help you develop life skills to successfully navigate and use healthcare resources in society and beyond.

The goal of the Student Health Center is to give you a same-day appointment. If the volume of patients prevents this, you will be offered the first available opening that is appropriate for your visit.

Student Health Insurance

Academic Health Plans is a provider of health insurance for Lamar University and Lamar Institute of Technology students. Their web site will provide the most current prices and coverage levels.
